There is no lovelier place for a baby to be than held by a loved one. Babywearing is the term for carrying a baby in a sling. Snuggled into this secure ‘nest’ reminiscent of the womb, the feeling of being held and rocked is naturally soothing to babies making them safe & content and lulling them Back to Nature.
100% Organic Fabrics
Sadly, most clothing now contains unwanted chemical additives. The natural fibres found in organic clothing are best for your baby’s skin, being free from the contamination of pesticides or artificial fertilisers. The Garments and Soft Toys chosen for our Collections are made with buttery soft, 100% certified organic cotton and non-toxic, eco-friendly dyes. All painted toys and products are finished with non-toxic child-safe paints and lacquers.
Fair Trade Vision
Our Eco-Conscious Commitment is to be People & Planet Friendly. We aim to keep the earth’s resources in balance, emphasising the use of recycled or renewable natural materials and applying sustainable environmental practices. We choose to deal with product importers who ensure that their artisans have safe and healthy places to work and don’t employ child labour, giving the impoverished a chance to thrive and create change for themselves, their families and their communities.
The emphasis on our Collections is to be as friendly to Mother Nature and our precious Planet as possible. The majority of the toys we choose are made from either Rubber Wood or Bamboo; both being sustainable timbers sourced and grown on plantations, assisting impoverished populations.
Sustainability is based on the simple principle that “everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment. Sustainability is important to making sure that we have and will continue to have the water, materials and resources to protect human health and our environment.” Our aim is to contribute to a greener, brighter future for our planet, choosing our products accordingly.
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)
Only textile products that contain a minimum of 70% organic fibres can become GOTS certified. Aim of the standard is to define world-wide recognised requirements ensuring organic status of textiles, from responsible harvesting of raw materials, through manufacturing & labelling, in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer. All chemical inputs such as dyestuffs & auxiliaries must meet certain environmental & toxicological criteria.
