Why Buy Organic?

Choosing organic products helps keep chemicals out of the environment and away from kids. Polyester emits chemicals that can cause allergies, chemical sensitivities and serious health problems. Natural fabrics include cotton, linen, wool, cashmere and silk. The best fabric for children is 100% cotton.
Especially relevant to note is that children are particularly vulnerable to chemicals. As a result of this, their immature immune and liver detoxification systems cause them much more sensitivity than adults. The culprits that are most of all to blame are items such as bleach, dyes, and toxic compounds.

Harmful Synthetics

It is most important that synthetic fibres for children are avoided. This is because they are generally made of the primary sources of petroleum and cellulose (cotton liners and wood pulp). Furthermore they are not breathable nor absorbable. Consequently this makes them hot in summer and cold in winter. Frequently, they hold an electric charge, which produces static cling and requires chemical sprays.

Inspired by classic children’s toys. These are now re-imagined using the finest eco-friendly materials available. Our founder, Angie Ting, set out to create a collection of eco-friendly products for her two young children. Angie’s vision was bold. Motivated by concern for infant health, the environment and the ecological impact of conventional farming. In 2009 she formed a partnership with Pate International. This is a highly respected San Francisco design firm. It has a rich heritage of environmentally conscious projects. Susan Pate, along with her daughter Chloe Pate, helped her realise her dream. Together they created Apple Park…and the rest…is history.
